So, it appears I am stuck right now, I'm trying to figure out how I want to approach the music production part of the process. It's obviously the hardest part, I might need some outside intervention. I think I may consult a few friends before it gets too close to the production deadline!

Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about my song or given up!! I've been working slowly but surely on the musical composition. I've mainly been sitting on some beats and trying to fit the lyrics with a good beat. I might soon contact some people for advice so be on the lookout:) If I drum up some more beats I'll post them to my tweetmysong.com account. Don't give up on me now, I'll have something good for you soon:) The next deadline is August 1st for the music rough cut without vocals, I'm still on for that date, so get excited!!

I finished writing the rough draft of my song, and before the deadline! It sounds good so far, but as music comes into play I'm sure the lyrics will be tweaked. I'm not going to release the full lyrics to the public due to privacy/copyright mess so I will give you bits and pieces. As music starts to come together I will also upload clips but never the full thing, sorry! So, here's a hinty lyric I will share:
Song Title: Adrenaline
Part of the chorus: "When you're in danger it makes you Superman/It intoxicates you with euphoria like no drug can"
Now that the rough draft is written, music mixing will start! This is the most difficult part so I will most likey be contacting all my musical friends for advice and/or samples!! If you think you have and idea or something to contribute let me know. I'm revising the schedule because there's no need for a final draft before music production so I'm switching final draft and music production start. Sorry for the hiatus, I had some personal stuff to deal with, but all's well now! Anyway, I have had to brainstorm some ideas for what I want the music to sound like. I don't have any samples yet but I might have something to post in the next few weeks. I know I want this pop song to have the electronic feel, it seems to be trending and I really like the sound. Since the song is about Adrenaline, I think I want to have the heartbeat sounds I was talking about incorporated throughout or maybe just in the chorus. Instruments that I think I want to use are heavy bass drumming, high speed, some crunchy synth, and maybe some lofty strings. I'm pretty sure that once I get the lyrics down the music will just come flowing. I'm so excited! Next deadline is May 1st for the song rough draft, I better get crackin;)
It looks like production will be stalled for a little while due to personal reasons. Hopefully soon I will be able to continue. Hope to post some good stuff soon.
Oops I made a mistake, the brainstorm was only for songwriting, now the next deadline is for music brainstorming. With that being said, my songwriting brainstorm has led me to decide what the song will be about. It will definitely be about adrenaline with the traditional pop structure with some breathing pauses and heartbeat sound clips. I'm going to start the songwriting with the chorus to really set the anchor for the rest of the song.
As for the music brainstorm due the 15th, I have done some thinking already and I pretty much know the style I want but in the next 2 weeks I will decide the key and final tempo and maybe come up with some clips to see if I can even come up with something. Anyway, please add any input in the comments, it's greatly appreciated!!
Ooook it looks like my first deadline is coming up tomorrow. The brainstorming phase is coming to and end and I feel like I'm pretty sure about the kind of song I want to do, and what the subject matter will be. Along with that, I have some other aspects of the production in mind, like how I will promote and who I should contact. I have a few people that I think I'll be able to confer with about production and maybe a DJ to test drive the song later on when it's complete. I'm so excited!! Also I have a wishlist going on Amazon.com to sum up what I need for this process. Right now I'm just researching microphones because I realllllyyy need one, and a decent one. I don't have a lot to spend on one, but I need like middle of the line. Suggestions are appreciated!! :) Tomorrow I'll post my final ideas and maybe a few lyrics that I might use to spring off of, so please keep following!!
I've been listening to some current pop music and looking into compositional methods. I can see some trends and upcoming popularities, and I think I'll draw from that. The electro pop feel seems to be dominant and I like it so I definitely want to incorporate that. Hmm the only inspiration I need is lyrical inspiration. I need something catchy and interesting dealing with Adrenaline. Thoughts anyone?
